Overview
One of the most popular and smaller islands of the Balearics is Ibiza or Eivissa, which is the official name. The island is an ideal holiday spot for families and older visitors.
Ibiza is primarily known to have the best nightlife in Europe. However there are also the more quiet retreats for the ones seeking relaxation once you leave the bustling centres of Ibiza Town and Sant Antoni.
Not for nothing is Ibiza called the White Island. The island’s beaches are what you imagine Mediterranean beaches to be like and there are 80 to choose from. The island spoils its visitors with wonderful sandy beaches and secluded smaller cove beaches with crystal clear water and spectacular sunsets over the sea.
The island has kept its traditional and pure Mediterranean character with many remote sleepy villages. Olive, orange and almond groves line the empty winding roads that are sometimes only populated by goats. A great part of Ibiza has been listed as an UNESCO World Heritage Site.
